“Invest in the right place and at the right time. We don’t want to move offices anymore, it takes too much time and affects the overall productivity. We want a place of our own, focusing on the experience throughout the working process.”
A not-so-big group but with really big aspirations and dreams. Magezon came to us during the months when the whole world was reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic; they chose to invest in a new office, a new workspace instead of reserving funds during difficult times. As a three-year-old technology start-up, this was not an easy decision, but they didn’t want to move and change offices anymore, which would affect the overall productivity.
With this project, we built the concept of a ‘mini functional park’, where everything is optimised and has its function. The space is divided into 2 parts, using the ceiling and floor system as a space-dividing element: one side is the working area, and the other side is the multifunctional space.
– Working area: basic space with the highlight being the ceiling lighting system used by Dplus, using hanging lamps with shades, alternating and combining with the existing ceiling light of the building.
– Functional area: completely different from the basic style of the working area (opposite area), the functional area is divided into a design with a platform/step system and a high ceiling system with spotlights. The seating platforms all take advantage of the space below to store Magezon’s supplies, saving space while still maintaining aesthetics. The platforms are all calculated in size to be balanced and most suitable. With this functional area, Magezon can flexibly organise internal events as well as to receive guests. The special point is that employees can completely rest, eat and live in this area during their lunch break.
A space with multiple utilities and thorough optimisation is what we tried to apply in this project. We received photos from Magezon when they decorated for Halloween, October 20, and many other occasions in that functional space. Although the space is the same, the emotions and memories are multidimensional and very different. Thank you, Magezon, for choosing to trust Dplus for this important step in your startup process.
